We go to Cortez Kitchen at least three times every trip (10 days). Anyone who feels the service there is too slow really needs to stay out of the Caribbean where “island time” is the rule. Sarah is a sweetheart and a very attentive waitress. The seafood is always excellent. Two couples of us usually go and have never had a problem getting two separate checks. Definitely will go back.

Love! Love! this place. The only place we eat at on the island. Whether we eat from the “fresh catch” of the day menu or the regular menu we have never been disappointed. We have been coming here for over 5 years and we enjoy the casual atomsphere.

I too love the “Kitchen” !!!!! Great Food,Drink and Music!! Especially that Ol’ Harmonica player Wyman! I miss going down to Florida! Maybe next year!

This is by far our favorite restaurant on the island! Hubby and I crave their Grouper Sandwiches when we’re back home in Colorado. They’re good any way – fried, blackened, grilled….so good!

Great location too but parking can sometimes be a tiny bit of a pain – the food is SOOO worth it though!

While I have never seen a 1 hour wait I am sure it is possible if all conditions are terrible. Just to help here would be the forecasted conditions that would create the “perfect” storm… 10 – 11 AM driving on to the island on a Saturday or Sunday three day weekend. 99% of the time if I wait in traffic less than 10 minutes. 85% of the time I never wait in traffic unless the draw bridge just went up or down. Yes it takes about 20 minutes to get on to the island.

On very popular weekends it can be difficult to find beach parking if you are not sure where to look. If you are renting on Anna Maria Island just about any property is a walk away from the beaches. If you are not renting on the island then I would suggest heading up to Anna Maria City and try White avenue where there is a very large parking area across the street from a church. I have seen the parking lot full once in 5+ years on a BIG surfing day. Of course there is always Manatee public beach which typically does fill up on popular weekends by late morning. I am fairly confident in a pinch you can always count on White avenue. You will need to walk about 1.5 football fields to the beach which is an easy barefoot walk or walk in flip flops. I have heard from some locals that during summer months and summer holidays it can take as long as 1-hour to get in and out of Anna Maria Island to Bradenton. Is there any truth to this considering it would generally take only about 20 minutes to get there? Also is it hard to find parking for the beaches after mid-morning if you are driving in to the island from Bradenton?
