Anna Maria Island boasts several large open areas and the public space in Holmes Beach is no exception.  There is a very large open space just East of Marina Drive between 59th Street and 62nd Street very close to where Island Real Estate is located.  In this area you will find the only baseball or softball diamond on Anna Maria Island.  The baseball diamond is just behind the skate park and basketball park.  Clubs do play in the park so if you decide to try and hit the ball around be sure to stay flexible and have an alternative plan in case the diamond is already being used.   Just to the South of the diamond you will find a large open space which could also be used for softball or baseball in case the field is being used.  There is a trolley stop very close to the baseball diamond that is located in front of the skate park.
